It is so easy to get in to prison but it is hard to leave. The same is true of pornography addiction, it is so easy to get behind the walls of pornography and create your own cell that it is is hard to escape from.
Pornography affects your mind, spirit and soul. It destroys relationships and it is controlling. The walls of pornography limits our field of vision. Much like prison wall do the outside world around it. It distorts reality and perverts the God given beauty of sex.
My question is straight forward and poignant: Are you sitting on death row because of your pornography addiction? Is it destroying your life? Pornography is like a lethal injection that for the most part suffocates you and shut down your internal system. It is like sitting a in a rusty cage of death and death has no exception.
There is hope! There is freedom on the other side of the wall. You can step out and take a deep breath of the open air. There is a process, there is way to be released from the addiction of pornography --- you can't do it alone! You need to be rehabilitated.
In Judges 16, we read about the story of Samson, a man's man! A strong man. Someone who had God's favor on him and God blessed him with amazing strength. Unfortunately, he was enticed, he gave into the allure of a woman. A man that was once strong and mighty, is now weak. A man that was free found himself chained to the walls. He was a prisoner. He let his guard down, he allowed himself to give into temptation.
I think this happens many men, strong men, men who have great potential. But because they have allowed pornography to entice them, maybe starting out with some browsing or even "unintentionally" check things out on the web. Eventually they are enticed and dragged away by the addiction to pornography.
Just as God gave Samson a second chance at redemption (it took time for his hair to grow back). God wants to give you a SECOND CHANCE. This is not a hopeless situation. But it will take time, there is a process. It takes discipline and it takes focus. Don't take your eyes off of Christ...he will give you the strength that you need.
